Normally the scope and mounts are considered as one item , and in the outward appearance , all ZF41 scopes and mounts are guite similair . A closer examination of the scopes reveals many variations in the markings , rain schields and the focusing rings .

All mounts have the designation etched on the rear mount arm as schown .
By observation (thanks to J.P Hayon - vintagescope to mention me this) There is a difference between the early and late mounts markings .
Early mount only with WaA 214 = Very early mount for K98/ZF41 duv41 (flat mount )

Early mount with WaA 214 above duv = ar rifles / 41-42-43 .
Late war mount = byf 43 and 44

On the inside of the mount you find also markings , but is not always the same marking . Early mounts have on each leg ( not always )a marking . Late mounts have one marking. No explanation found at this moment what these marks means . This markings has been found on original mounts
Early mounts : cxn (flat rollers) : j - 6 bmj (flat rollers) : d - 4 jve : I - 5 ddv : I - 9
Late mounts : cxn : i , v , h , m busch : h kov : i fvs : E dow : v fzg : 1 jve : g

Other markings find on the early mounts :
Photos showing numbers on three of the four flats on the scope rings . This is not the weapon snr . No explanation found at this moment what these numbers means .

On the upper part stand engraved nrs , these is the first two nrs of the gun snr

Exceptions .
There are always exceptions , such as these type 1. No gun nr on the mount , but three of the four flats on the scope rings have numbers. (Thanks to Bronkie to use the photo's )
