A scarce German WWII "Waffenmeister" accessory. The Vorsatzlupe was used by German armorers to assist in zeroing the ZF41 optical rifle site as used on the Kar98k. The open end of the tube was attached to the rear end of the ZF41 scope, after the rifle had been test fired at a designated target & distance. Acting as a prism, the armorer looked down into the Vorsatzlupe, and observed the picket post reticule of the ZF41 & the target downrange. He was then able to move the point of aim to the center of the target. This was accomplished after removing the drum cover of the ZF41 & using aligning pins in their respective slots, to move the point of aim.
